Our next speaker, Marcia Rankin, was a newspaper reporter/editor for 20 years. Now she writes programs and activities for the Disney Cruise Ships, magazine articles, trivia, Cleo Clutz columns, children’s picture books, and travel guides. She also presents workshops for writers, actors, colleges, and organizations and is an editor for writers and for Disney entertainment. She also has had a career as a performer in commercials, infomercials, films, and theaters; and she writes, directs, and performs in mirthful murder mysteries for dinner theaters, contests, and newspapers. "The highlight of my film career was running through a cemetery at 3 a.m. wrapped in black plastic, carrying a rubber axe, and falling over tombstones."
Marcia will speak to us on "Ways to Get Published" - and she hints that we should even make money while doing it. She'll have lots of practical advice including how to find an agent and how to get to a publisher. She promises plenty of take-away lessons.
And yes! This will be on March's Last Thursday - March 26, 3:00 at the library.
Marcia will not be able to join us after all but we will still meet, same time, same place.
